Today we want to talk to you about fostering independence from infancy. As parents, it's easy to get caught up in the notion that our kiddos need us for every little thing, but there are some easy ways to help them to learn how to do things on their own. For example, you can allow them to start feeding themselves. This small action helps them to develop and refine their motor skills. You can also introduce solo play during tummy time. This teaches them that alone time is okay, and they can entertain themselves. Another way is letting them have free crawling time, with supervision of course. This allows them to explore their home, and shows them that they can get around on their own. It also helps to foster problem solving skills, as they have to learn how to navigate the house and get around certain obstacles. How can you help your child to foster independence?
